Sigh
Saturday, May 03, 2008
Well my design submissions to Threadless made it into the voting but I wasn't around to promote them :(
They did score but due to the change in rules they were removed from the running early.
That said I received positive comments about Midnight Flight and some good constructive comments about Jump!
I think I may spend some of my down time on holiday next week to think up some new designs.Labels: Threadless

Vote 4 Me T's!
Saturday, April 26, 2008
So the weathers lovely and what am I doing - I am indoors designing new t shirts for threadless!
To be fair though I have been up since the crack, done all the washing and been into town to have a browse around the shops...
The garden looks like a jungle and although it's hot enough to mow the lawn it's still too wet to do so safely.
I am still deciding whether to join the Threadless 12 club - maybe if one of my newest designs (which are tweaks of old wallpapers I have created), are submitted it may help me make up my mind.
Please - click on the thumbnails to see the full t's and vote for me!Labels: Threadless

Burning a Hole
Sunday, April 20, 2008
OK here's the deal. I got my annual bonus this week and after the tax man got his claws on it it was significantly reduced. That said it's an amount not to be sniffed at.
Now I know I have been blogging and pod casting about wanting to get a new Mac book Pro but I think I am going to be sensible and save the money for the time being. The state of the UK economy is following that of the USA and the global down turn so I think it would be wise to do so.
I do however feel I should treat myself in some way.
I know there is lots of speculation about the 3G iPhone coming in June which is fine but at the end of the day my old contract expires then and I'll be up for a change so I don't see this as much of a treat.
I am however thinking of giving my wardrobe a monthly refresh by way of a Threadless 12 account. As most of you will know by the photos of me online, I already own a number of great Threadless T's and was thinking of purchasing some more.
I am currently undecided with the designs etc and this is where the 12 Club comes in. If I stump up a wad of cash (it's not much it works out about £9 a T, I get an exclusively designed T every month for the next year and a $30 voucher to buy more!
I think this is a pretty good investment as it means I constantly update my wardrobe with at least one new item every month and it saves me having to go out and shop for such things (and it means I don't end up buying something that everyone else is wearing which to me seems to be the case here in the UK).
Oh decisions, decisions...
(Mental note to self: I must get around to creating more designs for submission too!)Labels: My World, Threadless

No Free Papers
Friday, June 01, 2007
Last Friday when I left Blackfriars Station to walk the three minute journey to my office I was besieged by nine people trying to give me free newspapers and supplements.
Am I the only one who is getting really tired of this? The people block entrances and exits. They stand in the middle of corridors and pavements and some have taken to thrusting papers into my hand.
So far I have been polite and simply say no thank you but my patience is wearing thin.
I am also hacked off because the people who do read these papers readily discard them on the train/tubes or leave them hanging out of bins. I guess because they are free people don't' feel obliged to take them home or dispose of them properly.
I know the paper companies try to promote recycling but why not simply stop producing these wafer thing pieces of propaganda? When do you find a rubbish bin in Central London it's always full to the brim so where are we supposed to dispose of them?
So with this in mind I came up with the idea of designing a tee on Threadless which simply says "No Free Papers". It's awaiting approval but I would be grateful if you could vote for my design. I would love to see it make it to production and ultimately be worn by people in the Capital.
Come on Londoners, lets bin those free papers for good!Labels: Threadless, UK

I have been very slow in writing anything for the blog this week as I just have not had the time.
I did manage to produce another Trunk Cast and that will go some way to explain why.
With one thing and another it's simply been too much to want to spend too much time in front of the computer at home. I think I may even be right in saying my computer wasn't even switched on last night - I'd simply had enough of sitting in front of a computer.
There will probably be even less entries next week as I am away a number of days (again refer to Trunk Cast 88)
I did mention the designs I submitted to Threadless last time I wrote anything here and sadly both designs were rejected over technicalities in the design (colours, size etc). I have now updated the designs and resubmitted. Follow the thumbnails to pop by and vote for them - of course, that is when they get approval!
Update - unfrotunately Office Politics has been declined again. I will submit a new version over the weekend!
I posted a rather bizarre photograph to my 365 set yesterday on Flickr. (You will need to open the full size image to get what I am on about).
Basically on my walk up to St Paul's yesterday there was a suited chap with briefcase who had a palm tree strapped to his back. I have no idea why, but I fear it was probably part of some tiresome marketing campaign.
There was a photo I captured last year of a yellow open top bus full of children and balloons - this ended up in a Marks and Spencer advert - so I wouldn't be surprised!
Isn't it amazing what you can see when you actually look? I wonder how many people walked past him and didn't notice?
I must say a quick thanks to the guys over at the Gay Boyfriends group of Flickr for choosing a photo of Richard and I as their icon :) We are flattered - thanks.Labels: 365, Art, Digital Media, Pic-a-Day, Threadless, UK

Wear Some Trunk Guy!
Sunday, April 15, 2007
As you may have noticed I like to wear Threadless T Shirts - my only qualm is the cost I have to pay to get them shipped!
Anyway I did submit some designs a couple years ago but although they were quite highly rated they never made it to the creation stage.
I have decided thanks to the warm reception my vector wallpapers are receiving, that I would create two t shirts from the favourite designs.
I would be really really pleased (grovel), if you could pop by Threadless and vote for my designs.
I stand to win a cash prize and I promise with the winnings I will pick one of you who have voted at random and send you a copy of the tee :)
To make it easier for me to know you have voted for me - visit the links here (the images) and then add a comment.
Many thanks.
Wish me luck!Labels: Digital Media, Threadless
