Well we're back from Paris, very tired but glad to have met up in the city of amour!I still had the worst of my bug whilst in France, not helped by the incredibly humid conditions on the Metro on Saturday (nor helped by the power cut which meant we were stuck underground with lots of sweaty Parisians for half an hour!).
In fact the transport to and from Paris was a bit of a nightmare.
On the flight out, we landed but were not allowed to leave the air craft due to a security alert at Charles de Gaulle. The police blew up a suspect package. Returning on Sunday we had an hours delay to board and then sat on the plane for a further hour due to baggage problems! GGGRRRR
Never mind. We've been and that is the main thing. It was nice to visit Paris again and this time we made it up to the Sacre Coeur which gave us new views of the city. We had a lovely dinner at our favourite restaurant on the Saturday evening, before taking a stroll across the Seine. Sunday was spent around the Marais and the Lourve ;)
Richard bought me a Fantasia Mickey Mouse whilst he was at Disneyland and we have decided to take Mickey around the world with us... Look out for Mickey's Global Adventures!
On a less than positive note though, this visit to Paris really stood out because the city was absolutely filthy. I used to think the French took a lot of pride in their captial but it seems like they don't any more. Every street corner stunk of pee and there was so much litter about. There seemed to be a lot of Afro Caribbean's too, all of whom seemed to be making to most of congragating outside all the Metro stations causing a complete nuisance. Come on France, what's going on?
