Daily Stewart!

Friday, November 18, 2005

As you know we are spending some time next year in New York. One of things we plan to do is to try and get tickets to see John Stewart and The Daily Show. As far as I can tell this isn't currently possible as all tickets are allocated until January.

Imagine my surprise when I received a mail shot here in the UK advertising that John will be in the UK next month! The purchase of tickets didn't take much consideration and within a day they are sat on the mantle!

I am not sure quite what to expect from the event at the Prince Edward Theatre in Soho but I am sure it'll be funny and topical.

The Mighty BooshI was also planning and hoping to get to see The Mighty Boosh here in St Albans as a list of dates were promoted a couple weeks ago. I have not been to the Arena here and thought this would be a great opportunity to do so.

I now discover that my hopes of see La Boosh here have been scuppered as the venues have been re allocated and they are no longer coming to St Albans :( There is a show in Cambridge which I am sure is a good second choice though I am disappointed that it won't be here (as it's literally down the road!). Never mind.

Last night saw the premiere of the third series of Little Britain (this time it's so big it makes it to BBC One first). Anyway, I was a little disappointed. It would good to see some of the old characters and some new ones were quite amusing but there are faults. I think Walliams and Lucas have fallen into that usual trap of having a surprise hit and are now trying too hard. I guess a fairer judgement will come after I see another episode but I will admit I am not going to loose any sleep if I miss it. Though it's difficult to miss Little Britain at the moment as there is so much merchandise it's scary (why on earth would you want a Daffyd or Vicki Pollard doll?

It is good to read a positive news story in the British press which covers gay life, being HIV + and the police force. I am sure this story must break some sort of tabloid code of conduct! But then again this is issued by the BBC so it's hardly fair to call this a tabloid! Interesting news story though.

OK so it's Friday, it's too early to be up on my day off so I am going to have a soak and some breakfast before getting ready to go in town (London to you).
