We're off home this weekend and after yesterdays events I think we need the break.

As I said yesterday I realise how lucky we are that Richard made it back in one piece. Scarily the train that was hit at Kings Cross was Richard's routine journey until a couple of weeks ago when he started going into the office earlier.

I don't know what I would have done if I had of lost him. I cannot imagine how friends and family of the deceased must be feeling.

Of all the speeches yesterday I think London Mayor Ken Livingstone was the most rousing:

"I know that you do fear you may fail in your long term objective: to destroy our free society. And I will show you why you will fail. In the days that follow, look at our airports, look at our seaports and look at our railways. Nothing you do, however many of us you kill will stop that life. Where freedom is strong and people can live in harmony, whatever you do, however many you kill, you will fail."

I have long felt that the British people were a very resilient race, from stories told by my grand parents I knew what came before and I am sure I can say that that feeling of determination, grit and solidarity is still strong. The perpetrators had better keep a close eye on the news channels and I feel we will not be altered by this and we will work against such tyranny.

I hope you all have a restful, safe weekend and spare a thought for those who are grieving.

"Living in a world we didn't make, living in a world that's filled with hate, living in a world where grown up's break the rules... Living in a world we didn't make, paying for a lot of adult mistakes, how much of this madness can we take..? In complete darkness we are all the same, it is only our knowledge and wisdom that separates us, don't let your eyes deceive you" Janet, 1814
