Rich, Happy Birthday Baby xxXxx

My musical tastes seem to be as changeable as the weather lately. I keep seeing adverts for Jack Johnson popping up all over the place and on some level I am intrigued. Jack has the whole "American College Boy Slightly Grown Up" look going on and he sounds very mellow. However I am not entirely thrilled by all of the excerpts I have heard on iTunes.

I am also in two minds about Turin Brakes who also seem to fit the summer laid back category that the Recca Stows' are heavily promoting this year. I do think I like this album more than Jack Johnson though. Jackinabox does sound very haunting though.

On a completely different level I have been downloading excerpts from Funkstorung who are a German Electronic outfit. There are some tracks from their new album I adore such as Sleeping Beauty and The Zoo but then there are a number of tracks that I really would never play.

I guess this is the beauty of iTunes as it gives me the flexibility to listen to albums before I purchase them, decide if I want the whole thing, in which case I order the CD; and if not, then I will save my pennies and buy just what I want.

I am still torn between the selections above. The new Royksopp album should drop in my box next week but I crave something new. Should I wait for the new Royksopp album or should I bite the bullet and try something else? What do you think? (I have to say now that anything suggested by Luke (Mr German Heavy Metal) and Graham (the Gallagaher brothers best friend) will be ignored!)
