Why are people so damn bloody minded and thoughtless?I drive through some winding country lanes on my way to work and have often wondered how some people manage to get from A to B in one piece as they drive too fast and are all over the road.
I noticed over the past week that a pair of ducks have nested on the boundaries of one of the farms and as it is spring I guess they were waiting for the patter of tiny webbed feet.
Sadly (and shockingly) this morning it all came to an abrupt end when the car ahead of me took a corner too fast, ran over the verge and killed one of the ducks. The thing that really grates is that he didn't stop! He just drove on. The other duck was waddling back and forth crying out whilst the other poor soul lay in the road twitching.
What drives people to be like this? Why do some people lack compassion and common sense?
I may sound melodramatic about a duck but they have as much right to be here as the rest of us. What would the driver have done if a child had run out from the farm? I dread to think.
