Kinda Weird

Monday, November 29, 2004

As predicted the weekend home was kinda odd.

Don't get me wrong I had a lovely time but hearing my parents wish me a "Happy Christmas" on the 28th November is a little disturbing!

Still we had a nice time and the decision to drive down early Saturday morning instead of late Friday paid off (especially as we were both out for the count the minute we went to bed on Friday!).

Saturday was a pretty full day considering it started at 4.30am! We took Richards nephews to see "A Sharks Tale" as they had wanted to see it. I am glad we had the excuse to take small children as I thought it was appalling. Nevertheless they consumed copious amounts of popcorn, sweets and drinks whilst Richard feel asleep so I think it was a successful trip! T was singing along to "Car Wash" so I will gauge this as a positive reaction!

For the evening we were both at my parents and mum and dad cooked us a monumental Christmas dinner. I swear my parents cook the best Turkey roasts around - it was so nice and so welcome. I don't think we stopped eating all evening - right up until Richard left to go back to his sisters.

I spent Sunday relaxing with my parents and showing them more bits and pieces on the computer I bought them for Christmas. I am amazed how quickly they are picking things up, I am very proud of them both.

The drive home was a bloody nightmare though - it usually takes around 4 hours but annoyingly it took 6 and a half! All due to miles of traffic cones, rain and idiot drivers crashing through barriers etc, just because of the need to "get there before everyone else".

Still mustn't grumble as we got home safely.

I have spent my day purchasing the last of my Christmas presents and dutifully wrapping them. I have the cards to write but feel all Christmas'd out for now so will do them later.

I did manage to have a run around Max Payne 2 (thanks Luke) and got a bit further in Half Life 2 but I have made sure it doesn't take over my day (otherwise what's the point in being off?)God bless!

I spotted a few comments regarding Calendar Romano on various blogs so I thought I'd mention it too. It is sort of the Italians version of the French Rugby calendar - sort of! It features members of the Roman Catholic Church and I just had to post this photo - isn't he cute? I wonder what he hides under his cassocks! LOL

One has to wonder what other calendars are out there, do you know of any worth a mention?

P.S. I am not sure how effective the Make Love Not Spam screen saver is but it has to be worth a try doesn't it? Apparently this has caused some online caution and the validity of the whole process has been called into question. Therefore ignore this bit of the entry and don't bother to download the screen saver! It's for your own good!!!
