Today has been a wonderfully autumnal day and we made the most of it by visiting the Waddesdon Manor Estate.

I don't particularly care for the current American Elections but I do have to say I am no fan of McCain or Palin. that's why I think this is hilarious!

A Qype Ninja!
You may have noticed in my Twitter box (on the right) that I have been writing reviews of places we have been, eaten and seen. These have formed part of my account on Qype and for every review you write you gain a point (or two).
Anyway I reached the magic 1000 points a short while ago and took delivery of my congratulatory pack. I have to say for a free gift pack I am very impressed.
What did I get (see above):
- My Qype Ninja ;0)
- A bottle of bubbly
- A Frisbee
- A Mug
- A 1GB memory stick
- A 1GB Product (RED) iPod Shuffle
- a Qype long sleeve tee
- A Qype bag
- and a bag of sweets (not featured above)
I think you will agree that's not a bad haul at all.
I have already written more reviews following my 1000 point and will continue to do so. This gift set (obviously) gives me more incentive to carry on too.
Thanks Qype!Labels: Apple, Qype

English Holiday
Saturday, September 13, 2008
Richard and I have just returned from a wonder typically English holiday.
We spent the week in north west Norfolk and had a truly wonderful time. One of the magical events had to be when we stood along the shore at Horsey Gap and 6ft out was a seal who was as intrigued by us as we were with him. I think this film captures the mood of the moment:
The weather held out most of the week and even when it didn't it worked to our advantage. Every day we were out seeing new sites and experiencing more wonderful parts of the idyllic English countryside.
I took this shot as we were leaving the cottage, it was such a magnificent sight that we really could not pass up the opportunity of capturing the moment.
(Click to view full screen as it's better when enlarged.) Other highlights (and recommendations) include:
- Oxburgh Hall (Richard was brave enough to climb into the priest hole)
- Blakeney National Nature Reserve
- Sandringham
- Horsey Wind Pump (and the beach is where we saw the seal)
- Wells-next-theSea (the beach never ends)
- Sheringham Park (climbing the the top of the gazebo (after 3 miles walking) was tiring but worth it for the wonderful views)
- Staying in the wonderful Old Rectory Cottage in Beeston
... to name a few
It's just a shame it was all over so soon.

Mid Week
Wednesday, September 03, 2008
It's mid week and I am as busy as ever.
Last weekend Richard and I went home to see our folks and more importantly we got to see my parents new home. It's remarkable that in such a short space of time they have moved and it really does feel like they have always lived there.
The area is much nicer and quieter. There is a decent garden in the front and the back and the lack of stairs is perfect to help my mum get a round without loosing her breath etc.
All in all I am very happy for them and look forward to going home again to see what they have done with the garden etc.
Work is crazy busy this week but at least I am off next week. Richard and I are going to Norfolk for a weeks break. We're staying in an old Rectory on a country estate. I cannot wait! We have some idea of what we'd like to see but to be honest we'd both be very happy to simply have a rest ;0)Labels: holiday, Plymouth
