Trunk Cast 113 live!
Friday, November 30, 2007
I have just published show 113. It's a break from the norm as I have created a video of the highlights from my course. I was lucky to be in a group with such a vibrant mixed group of Europeans. Of course we learnt a lot this year but for us our cultural experiences were just as valuable.
The show is quite large but it's worth the download time - honest!

*No Trunk Cast This Week!
Sorry - no time to record a show this week :(
I am off training next week and I am absolutely shattered - to be honest all I want to do is curl up on the sofa with Brandy and my Baby.
Happy Thanksgiving to all you American folk.
To the rest of the world - have a good weekend - be grateful you don't have to force sincerity with your folks or consume too much turkey (afterall that's what American sitcoms have taught me about the holiday!) ;o)
P.S. I am doing really well with Super Mario Galaxy, I just wish I had more time to play it!

Quiet Sunday
Sunday, November 18, 2007
We haven't planned anything for today and seeing as we were so busy yesterdya I think thta's just as well.
I have however managed to make it down to the high street where I picked a few bits and pieces. I have surprised myself but purchasing Christmas cards - this doesn't mean it'll all fall into place now though. I don't even know when I will have time to write them to be honest! (Maybe I should just mail merge the addresses and just send blank cards marked with an "x"!)
Anyway the reason for this post is that I had little intention on purchasing Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii and yet I did! And what do I think? Well I Love it. I have already lost a couple hours today flying from planet to planet.
I had heard some reviews making comments about pixelation in the graphics but I have not seen a single glitch. Funnily enough putting the disc in our Wii for the first time made it update the system...
Anyway the gameplay is fantastic, the controls really easy (even with both controllers), the humour is as bright as ever and it's just a joy to fly from world to world... I can see I am going to loose much more time to Mr Mario and his Galaxy!Labels: Shopping, Wii

Chilled by day, Pumped by evening!
Saturday was a lovely day.
We visited Andrea, Lee, Baby Grace and Dillion (the doggie) yesterday for lunch. Jo and Sunil were also there and it made for a lovely day. Andrea made a lovely lunch and baby Grace was very sweet, lapping up all the attention (as was Dillion!).
We got back late afternoon, just enough time to change and get our train into the West End.
We met up with Dan, Matt and friends as it was Matt's birthday. We helped him celebrate by having a meal in Soho before heading off to Profile for a drink or two. Richard and I left they guys later in the evening but we look forward to hearing what they got up to - they had planned to go to g-a-y to see Girls Aloud.
Matt was fairly tipsy so I guess it made for an entertaining evening!

Visit Tigercity
Thursday, November 08, 2007
I was going to save this for the next podcast but I thought I'd write about it now as I am stuck on the train.I downloaded a Tigercity track from Spinner.com (see Trunk Cast 110) and am hooked. They only currently have an ep on iTunes but it's all I have played today. I would describe them as a happy mix of 70's Prince mixed with a healthy blend of Kaiser Chiefs and possibly Bowie. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Labels: Tigercity

Prince. Career Suicide, Part II (Dugg)
Wednesday, November 07, 2007
Come on Prince get your act together.
We've had a fantastic year - 21 days of phenomenal shows here in the UK, one of your best albums in ages and what do you do to end the year - piss off the fans!
For god sake man stop trying to bute the hand that feeds you.You cannot bean online artist if you are not prepared to live with consequences of online activity and if the activity is due to the fans wanting more - give us what we want instead of letting (some of) us going out there and getting it ourselves!
Prince threatens fan sites that post album art, pictures, even (allegedly) pictures of their own Prince-inspired tattoos. It's a... different approach to fan relations.

Chilled
Sunday, November 04, 2007
We have had a lovely day with Steve and Robin. They are such good fun we never have enough time free to spend together. We have to get better at meeting up more often!
At least it's been a relaxing and entertaining weekend.

Bang, Whoosh, Whizz!
Last night we went to the local fireworks display. I say local but and event that has approximately 20,000 people attend is anything but local.
Richard and I have never attended the fireworks displays in St Albans before as we would stay home and look after the cats. Jerry particularly used to be really scared of fireworks.
Dan suggested going this year so we thought we would just to see what all the fuss was about.
We had a fun evening, the display was very colourful (and loud in places) and it lasted a good half an hour.
I don't think I have ever seen that many people in St Albans at once!
We all came back to ours after stopping at one of the numerous pubs for a swift half. Brandy thankfully wasn't too bothered by the fireworks - we lest music on etc to drown out the noise. She seemed more worried by the visitors than the fireworks. That was until some idiots close by started to let off rockets late last night - B was ok though as she had plenty of us to calm her down!
I took loads of photos last night trying out the Fireworks setting on my Lumix. As you will see from the results it did an excellent job at capturing them. Although timing the shot can be quite tricky!
I also took some short videos, one of which I have uploaded to You Tube:

An Open Letter to Apple (Dugg)
Saturday, November 03, 2007
This would be a great update to the Touch and the iPhone - stop by the site leave a comment and Digg the story too.
I have one request: please add podcasting support to the iTunes Wi-Fi Store, as you’ve done in the main iTunes Store. As you know, podcasts are a great way to extend the power and usefulness of an iPod, and a great way to upsell buyers to larger hard drives, particularly video podcasts.

Busy on both sides
Friday, November 02, 2007
This week has been busy both at work and socially which has been rather nice (well the social bit at least).
Thankfully this is due to continue through the weekend to. It's Guy Fawkes Day on Monday which means that the weekend will be busy with firework displays. For once we are going to a local display tomorrow. We don't normally as we stay home to look after B. We are going tomorrow though and we will do everything to make sure she is not scared by all the commotion.
Sunday has us visiting friends in Cambridge which will be lovely as we have not seen Steve and Robin in ages.
Here's to a wonderful, relaxing and fun weekend.Labels: Friends, London, UK, Work
